A very interesting lecture by Tony Ingraffea on well integrity, whilst this applies to the USA everything we have witnessed in the industry’s efforts to get fracking in the UK gives a strong indication that it will be no different here. Of course we don’t have as many people who get their drinking water from boreholes but it will still have dramatic impact on all of our drinking water. Then we have the other impacts from leaking well casings, the gas carries condensation with it and this condensation contains traces of the chemicals that the industry uses plus the far more toxic substances from 10,000 ft below the surface that don’t belong in the human environment.
